The minimum rental period for our cabins is 6 months. You can request an extension four weeks prior to the end of your current term, and continue renting as needed.
Ensure clear access to the delivery site to prevent any damage to the unit from obstructions like overhanging trees. If access is restricted, additional charges may apply.
Our units are transported using a specialised truck and trailer system. For placement in tight spaces that the truck can’t reach, a digger is used. Generally, no site preparation is needed if the terrain is relatively flat. However, for units over 10m in length, a digger is necessary to maneuver the unit into place.
Upon installation, units are levelled with blocks (not piles) and built on a steel frame chassis. If the site is uneven or sloped, you might need to level the area before delivery.
Our are constructed to meet NZ Building Code requirements. Delivery requires a minimum clearance of 4m in width and 4.5m in height.
Permissions: Check local authority requirements for your property and provide a letter from the landowner granting permission for the unit’s placement. Early termination by the landowner may incur penalties, and a 4-week notice is required for us to end a rental and retrieve the unit.
Our units are designed to fit various placement scenarios. If direct truck access is not possible, the unit can be moved into position using a digger. Units can also be lifted over obstacles like fences and buildings using a hiab or crane, often at a surprisingly low cost. Additional fees may apply for difficult-to-access sites.
Power:
All Retreats come with an electrical compliance certificate. You’ll need an external power source with a 16amp caravan connection. If unavailable, we provide a temporary 15m adaptor for standard power supplies. This is only until you install the 16amp connection, which we strongly recommend arranging beforehand.
Water:
The Cabin will have an exterior water inlet for a standard garden hose connection from your on-site supply. Ensure the water pressure is between 25psi and 75psi. You are responsible for providing the hose and connections.
Hot Water:
The cabin is equipped with a 16L gas califont, which requires connection to two customer-supplied dual-supply 9KG gas bottles for proper operation.
Wastewater:
We offer two wastewater management options:
1. Installation of a Macerator pump, allowing waste to be pumped to a maximum of 40 meters distance and up to 7 meters uphill into a septic system through a 32mm Alkathine Pipe.
2. Direct plumbing from Macerator into your existing house system by a certified drain layer, connecting to your sewer or septic system.
The delivery and pick-up fees must be prepaid. Delivery costs start from approximately $1400 each way for 4m wide units. Each Cabin is quoted based on distance from our Yard to your requested location and specific needs. Additional charges apply if special equipment like a hiab or crane is needed.
Bond requirements are based on unit size and are as follows:
6 x 4m Solo Retreat $500.00
8 x 4m Comfort Retreat $750.00
10 x 4m Grand Retreat $1000.00
All Compac Retreats are build by LBP's and constructed to meet the NZ Building Code 3604. Obtaining necessary site permits is the customer’s responsibility.
• Minimum delivery and pick-up charges start from $1150 each way.
• Delivery and return freight charges are paid upfront unless special arrangements are made.
• Customers are responsible for any required ground works or fence removals at the site.
• The unit remains the property of Compac Rental Retreats during the rental term.
• We take all precautions during unit placement, but we are not liable for any damage to surrounding areas.
During delivery, an on-site spokesperson must be present to oversee access, unit placement, and sign the hazards register. Please ensure all safety guidelines are followed, maintaining a minimum distance of 25m from the delivery process and ensuring all pets and vehicles are appropriately controlled or removed from the area.
